What is Voluntourism?<\/h2>\n

Voluntourism is an opportunity for those that have a sense of stewardship and care for their environment, or have a heart to help others.\u00a0 This allows them to take on a project that will make a difference as part of their vacation.<\/p>\n

Voluntourism is not about giving away something for nothing – it’s about mutal growth through providing assistance and help to others.<\/p>\n

There are organizations that have projects that are ongoing throughout the year. The projects can vary from1 week (with options to extend if you wish) up to 1 year.<\/p>\n

You must raise funding for your airfare and your stay\u00a0for the project.<\/p>\n

The TEFL (teaching english as a foreign language)\u00a0program has a different option for those that are certified. They can be placed with a paid position for up to\u00a01 year.<\/p>\n

Voluntourism can consist of:<\/h2>\n

• Conservation<\/li>\n
• Wildlife nurturing<\/li>\n
• Building houses<\/li>\n
• Working as support personal<\/li>\n
• Teaching English as a foreign language, TEFL<\/li>\n
• Medical aid as a Doctor or Nurse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
